When they are small, they are yellow shaded to orange. These are the actual colors going from light to dark, left to right.I found one that had been removed from the ground. Look at the little fringes at the bottom.This is the side view of the one in my hand, above. Isn’t it pretty? You can see it is lighter orange than the one in the first picture. Look at the little bits of moss still clinging to the roots.

Some of them remind me of lacy petticoats, or pantaloons. Love that orange and yellow one. My aunt used to have a bunch of really red one in her yard, which I understand are deadly.
