Giving and Serving

Counting One Thousand Gifts this year at the rate of three a day. Today’s are gifts found in giving or serving.
142. I don’t do as much of it as I used to, but I do enjoy cooking the old Hungarian recipes my mother taught me -stuffed cabbage, Sunday Soup, cottage cheese filled crepes. They’re fiddly to make, but my husband and brother love them. A gift in serving special food.
143. Having patience with a toddler and a preschooler (grandkids) when I’m so hot and tired I could cry. The gift of growing in grace under pressure learned while giving and serving.
144. The gift of friends who don’t give up texting and calling me even when I don’t have enough energy to answer. How they serve and give to me.

Sounds like you have mixed blessings today, Maureen! ha ha! Love those old world recipes and yes, dealing with little ones takes lots of patience and maybe some ear plugs, too! And where would we be without our friends? xoxo
